Our Code of Conduct

Global Online Yoga Association

The Global Online Yoga Association (GOYA) is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and respect within the yoga community. This Code of Conduct outlines the values, principles, and guidelines that all our members - Yoga Teachers, Yoga Schools, and Yoga Students - must adhere to, in order to foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Commitment to Professionalism

Yoga Teachers: Should maintain appropriate boundaries with students, continuing their own education and training, and ensuring that they teach within the limits of their competence and expertise.

Yoga Schools: Should provide a safe, respectful, and conducive environment for learning. All programs should be transparent, meet established standards, and deliver on promised content.

Yoga Students: Should approach learning with an open mind, respect the guidance of teachers, and be responsible for their own well-being during practice.

Ethical Behavior

Avoid any form of dishonesty, fraud, or misrepresentation.

Ensure complete transparency in financial transactions and business dealings.

Abstain from engaging in any behavior that may harm, exploit or endanger others.

Respectful Interactions

Treat everyone, regardless of their background, race, gender, religion, or beliefs, with utmost respect, dignity, and fairness.

Avoid making derogatory remarks, actions, or judgments.

Encourage an environment of mutual respect, understanding, and collaboration.

Physical & Emotional Safety

Yoga Teachers: Are responsible for ensuring that physical adjustments are made with consent, sensitivity, and appropriateness.

Yoga Schools: Should have policies in place for managing grievances, ensuring students' safety, and maintaining a harassment-free environment.

Yoga Students: Should communicate their boundaries, limitations, and any concerns to the teacher or school authority.

Confidentiality

Respect and maintain the confidentiality of information shared by students, teachers, or during the course of any GOYA activity unless legally obligated otherwise.

Continuous Improvement

Members should seek continuous self-improvement, be open to feedback, and remain updated with advancements in the field of yoga.

Community Responsibility

Act as ambassadors of GOYA's mission and values in the larger community.

Engage in actions that uplift the community, promote inclusivity, and spread the holistic benefits of yoga.

Compliance with Laws

All members must abide by the applicable local, state, and national laws, especially concerning their professional practices and business operations.

Adherence to this Code of Conduct ensures that GOYA remains a beacon of integrity, respect, and excellence in the global yoga community. Any breach may lead to re-evaluation of membership status. As a GOYA member, it is our collective responsibility to uphold and advance these values, ensuring that the essence of yoga remains pure, empowering, and accessible to all.
